On 1st July I went to The Photographers' Gallery in London to find out more about the programme related to photography industry offered to young people. I was pleased to notice I was not the oldest one there. DEVELOP programme aimed at 14-24 yrs old, however there was a big mix of age groups. The venue took place on the third floor and accommodated place for a large group of people to be able to take part in workshops, photography hacks and artist’s talks. I also spotted a group of students working outside with a tutor from the gallery.
I smiled when I saw one of our students.
Thomas is our student at the KJS. He does not take Photography subject, but he said he likes photography. Once he found out from the school’s newsletter about the programme he came to London to get more hands on DSLR cameras. Thomas owns a camera and I believe he will have some of his work posted on our website in the near future.
The event itself was very busy and brought artistic flare into the place. There were students of higher education, secondary school students, teachers and general public interested in the arts.
It was a great day to network with others, meet new people, celebrate the world of photography and learn new techniques using everyday tools to create beautiful images.
The Photographers' Gallery is the largest photography gallery in London. It presents photography in variety of forms. There are many great events that are worth attending.
Most of them are free of charge for youngsters.
Creative bunch of people at the gallery is always helpful to guide you around.
Don’t miss out on future events and follow The Photographers’ Gallery website.
